Actor Adil Hussain reacts to #BoycottRadhikaApte. Recently Radhika Apte started trending on Twitter for one her old as well as bold pictures from her movie Parched. The hashtag #BoycottRadhikaApte started trending. Twitter users started objecting to her bold scene in the movie with co-star Adil Hussain. In a recent interview given to a news portal, Adil Hussain reacts to #BoycottRadhikaApte trend and said that is ridiculous to troll Radhika or to make a big deal about that particular scene. He goes on to add that those who are trolling the bold scenes from the movie Parched between Radhika and him, fail to understand the difference between art and porn and that art is still questioned.

Parched is a movie directed by Leena Yadav. The movie was screened at the Toronto Festival in 2015. However, the release of the movie for the Indian Audiences happened a year later in 2016. Speaking about the nude scene, Radhika had previously stated that it was not easy but rather intimidating to shoot it. Adil Hussain, who essayed the role of Radhika’s lover in the scene, had said in an interview,

“I got to know about it a couple of days back, when I saw some Google alert. And I think it’s ridiculous to trolls Radhika or make a big deal about that scene. I don’t pay much attention to such things at all. just think the only way to respond to it is, that you don’t (respond at all).” 

“I was almost naked in that scene. Have no issues with such scenes as long as they have not been done to tickle one’s lower senses. I have no issues with such scenes as long as they are meant to portray the complexities of human life. We as actors don’t shy away from playing brutal murderers, so why should we shy away from enacting a lovemaking scene? What’s the logic behind shying away? Aren’t we a land of1.3 billion people? And isn’t this the land where Kamasutra originated?” Presented by Ajay Devgn, ‘Parched’ narrates the story of women who are victims of child marriage, physical abuse and alcoholic husbands.
