Meera Chopra

Meera Chopra, is an Indian actress and model who appears in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi-language films. Meera’s Kollywood debut was with the 2005 film Anbe Aaruyire, in which she starred with S. J. Surya. The film became a huge hit making her a sensation in the south. Her second film was a Telugu-language film with Pawan Kalyan, followed by her critically acclaimed performance in M. S. Raju’s Vaana. She left south when she was at the peak of her career. Much later she made her Bollywood debut in Vikram Bhatt’s 1920: London, with Sharman Joshi. She’s also worked in Satish Kaushik’s Gang of Ghosts, produced by Venus. Meera is set to work in Nastik (upcoming film) opposite Arjun Rampal, which is set to release in late 2018. She played Anjali Dangle in a 2019 film Section 375, with Akshaye Khanna and Richa Chaddha. In an interview in 2014 Meera Chopra said her actress cousin Priyanka Chopra is always ready to help her in her Bollywood career and she shares “emotional bonding” with her. Meera Chopra aka Nila in Tamil films, who worked with the likes of Arjun, S.J. Suryah etc., has not been shying away from uploading posts on nepotism and the crude realities of the film industry after the demise of young actor Sushant Singh. “Lots of people including me, want to break the silence as to why actors commit suicide in this industry, what brings them to the edge. How does the system works against you, and how some directors exploit you emotionally and ruthlessly. (The wise ones never do and education plays a big part here) I’ve been there and I still get subjected to it. But the point is how much support you get when you open up, and how many people stand with u. Has it stopped after Sushant’s suicide?? NO…The fear of everything makes u take that step eventually. Its never about work, there’s plenty in the industry, its about your self respect, dignity, principles and most of it your peace!!(sic)”
