In a shocking incident, two students were killed and 9 injured in the Brown University shooting incident that unravelled on the evening of December 13. In the last update received, the shooter was still at large and the manhunt is underway. The larger area of Brown University remains under ‘shelter in place’ orders for now.
What Happened at Brown University?
As per the information available, a shooter dressed in black was reported to have opened fire and killed at least two students during the ongoing final examinations at the university. The incident took place inside a classroom in the Barus Holley Building on the campus.
University President has not shared any details regarding the classroom. Students were immediately issued a shelter in place order and asked to remain indoors till the order was lifted.
In confirmed reports, the two dead are students and 6 of the 9 injured were critical but stable for now.
The FBI has launched a manhunt and is seeking any information regarding the person suspected. A video of a man dressed in black has been shared on ‘X’ handle of FBI and people have been advised to call with any information. The suspect has not been identified but is said to be male and possibly in his 30s. Image of the same is also shared below.
