CBSE 10th 12th Result Passing Criteria

Students may please note that they need a minimum of 33 per cent passing marks in minimum 5 subjects to qualify the examination. For Class 12 students, 33 per cent will be calculated separately for theory and practical assessment marks. In other words, Class 12 students are required to score 33% in both theory and practical exams.

For Class 10 students, 33 percent is the total marks required – this includes marks obtained in theory as well as in internal assessment.

Students who have failed to secure 33% marks in one of their main five subjects but have passed in the optional subject will be given ‘pass’ by the board. In this case, the student need not appear again for the subject he/she has failed in.

In case a student fails in more than one subject (scores less than 33 per cent), he/ she will have an option of appearing for the same in the Supplementary/ Compartment examinations scheduled in the month of July. Students failing to score 33 per cent in three or more subjects will have repeat the year.
