CBSE 12th Maths Question Paper 2025: Moderate Paper, Small Relief after Physics & Chemistry But Not Much

Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE seems to have drastically improved on the difficulty level of the question papers, especially for Class 12 students. The board conducted the Class 12 Board Examination for Mathematics and Applied Mathematics today. As per the first few reports, CBSE 12th Maths Question Paper was tricky and an increased difficulty level.

The reports are still incoming in regards the Maths and Applied Maths board examinations. Teachers who have viewed the question paper have called the paper slightly tricky with about 4 to 6 marks question requiring high order thinking skills. CBSE 12th Maths Question Paper Review, Student Reactions

Starting with student reactions, it was mixed with many students calling the paper difficulty while some calling it moderate. Speaking on the difficulty level, Aanya, a Class 12 student called it “Bit lengthy and tougher than previous year’s paper.”

Other students also called the paper ‘moderate’ and ‘okay’ with few calling it satisfactory.

On the Applied Mathematics paper, the responses received were few with most of the students calling it an ‘easy’ to ‘moderate’ paper. MCQs were said to be tougher and time consuming. Overall, the reaction to the paper for Applied Maths was more positive as compared to Maths.

Class 12 Maths Exam Analysis: Teachers Review

Teachers who have had a chance to go through the question paper called it an ‘intelligent’ question paper. Senior Maths faculty, Mr. Gupta called the paper ‘balanced’ with just enough moderation to check the understanding of the students.

“Overall the paper was balanced and from NCERT. A few questions required higher order thinking skills and would distinguish between 80 per cent and above 90 per cent marks. It was easy enough for students to pass and difficult enough to score a perfect 100 per cent,” he commented. Detailed exam analysis and question paper review is expected later.
