CBSE Class 10 Science Exam: Important Tips from Teachers & Toppers

  1. Carefully go through the NCERT before the examination – all questions would be based on NCERT
  2. Make sure that you cover all Activities given in the NCERT Text book, at least 3 questions would be asked from the activities
  3. Remember to clearly draw the diagrams (where asked) in the answer sheet and label them – unlabelled diagrams are not given full marks
  4. Take your time to answer the MCQ portion of the question paper – students usually loose marks in the MCQ section
  5. Focus on all the chapters and do not leave any chapters or rely on choices
  6. Practice all the chemical equations given in NCERT and remember any physical changes mentioned along with the chemical reactions. Not providing the physical changes (change in colour, form etc.) would lead to loss of marks
  7. Remember to explain the reason clearly and stick to word limit provided.

Apart from these tips, teachers also ask students to utilise the reading time of 15 minutes provided at the beginning of the exam. Going through the question paper should give the student a basic idea of how best to manage the time that has been provided.
