Joint Entrance Examination, JEE Mains 2025 begins today – January 22, 2025. More than 13 lakh students will be appearing for the session 1 or January examination for JEE Main this year. The exam will be conducted in 10 shifts for Paper 1 and one shift for Paper 2. First Shift of the exam starts at 9 am today morning.
National Testing Agency, NTA has released the admit cards for the exam scheduled for January 22, 23 and 24 on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Admit Cards for the exam scheduled from January 28 onwards will be released today on the website in due course of time. Meanwhile, for the students who would be appearing for the exam today, here are a few last minute instructions, what is allowed and not and exam timings etc.
JEE Mains 2025: Last Minute Instructions
- First shift of JEE Main 2025 January exam will start at 9 am at various centres across the country and abroad – reporting time for most of the examination centre is latest by 8:30 am. No candidate will be allowed to enter the centre after this time
- Students who have not registered through Aadhaar need to report at least an hour before at the centre for their biometric registration
- Candidates need to carry
- Copy of admit card download from the official website – preferably a coloured A4 size
- At least 2 passport size photograph – one photograph (same as at the time of registration) to be pasted on the attendance sheet at the centre
- A valid photo ID Proof as uploaded in the online application – in Original (not photocopies)
- PwD/ PwBD Certificates (if applicable)
- No items other than the ones mentioned above are allowed inside the examination centre. Even stationery items, pencil box, eatables, water bottles, any kind of paper, any kind of electronic devices including but not limited to mobile phones, ear phones, microphones, calculators, docupen, slide rules, log tables, camera, tape recorder or any kind of watches – analog or digital, are not allowed.
Instructions for JEE Main Candidates for the Exam
Apart from the general instructions, here are a few things students must keep in mind.
- Check the medium of the question paper on the screens and ensure that they are the same as opted by them while filling the online application form…in case of any discrepancy, they must raise the concern immediately
- All candidates will be provided blank paper sheets at the examination centre for doing rough work/ calculations. Candidates need to write their name and roll number on the blank sheets and drop off the sheets at the centre at the end of the examination. This is applicable even if the candidate has not used the sheet for any calculation or work. They must drop off the blank sheet with their name at the drop boxes made available. If they fail to do so, their answer sheets would not be evaluated.
- Candidates also need to drop the duly signed admit card at the drop boxes made available at the centre – failure to do so will result in cancellation of his/her paper and answer sheet would not be evaluated
JEE Main 2025 Shift 1 will begin from 9 am today and end at 12 pm. The second shift if scheduled from 3 pm to 6 pm. The examination will be computer based test and conducted at centres designated. Students are advised to reach the centres well in advance to avoid last minute concerns. We wish all the students the very best for their examination.
