National testing Agency, NTA will be conducting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET 2025 on May 4, 2025. Nearly 23 lakh candidates have reportedly registered to appear for the examination this year. Here is a quick explainer on dress code and list of things allowed for NEET UG exam.
Students may please note that NTA has already released the NEET admit card on the official website neet.nta.nic.in. Instructions are also provided along with admit card. It is extremely important for all students to carefully go through the instructions.
NEET 2025 Dress Code
Students may please note that NTA does not specify any dress. It however does recommend students to wear light-coloured clothes that are appropriate to the climatic conditions in the region. Students are encouraged to avoid wearing dark coloured clothes or tight-fitting clothes.
Students are also not allowed to wear full sleeved garments. As for garments associated with religious beliefs (turbans, hijab), NTA permits the candidates to wear them. In this case, however, candidates are advised to report at least two hours before the last reporting time. All students will be subjected to frisking. NTA will ensure that frisking of female candidates is done in enclosures and by female staff.
As for other accessories, students are not allowed to wear any jewellery, metallic objects, chains, earrings, etc. Ornaments are strictly prohibited in the examination centre. Students are also not allowed to wear goggles, caps, belts, etc.
NEET UG Exam: List of Items NOT Allowed (BARRED)
- Any electronic gadget or communication device like mobile phone, pager, Bluetooth device, wrist bands, earphones, microphones, health bands, electronic pens, scanners, calculator, writing pad, pen drives, etc.
- Any printed or written material, bits of paper, books, logbooks, etc.
- Any stationary item – pen, pencil, pencil box, geometry box, pouch, scale, eraser, sharpener, whitener etc.
- Wallets, handbags, purses, pouches, etc. are not allowed
- Watch, bracelet, etc. are not allowed (even analogue watches are not allowed)
- Any eatables or water bottles are not allowed
- Any other item that might be used for unfair means including hidden cameras, communication devices, microchips, etc.
Things Allowed or Mandatory to Carry to NEET Exam Centre
All Students MUST carry
- Duly printed admit card along with proforma – signed with passport size photograph pasted on admit card and postcard size photo pasted on proforma
- Passport size photo to affix on the attendance sheet
- Valid and Original (not photocopy) identity proof as issued by the Government of India (Pan Card/ Drivers’ License/ Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhar Card/ Ration Card/ Class 12 Admit Card with photograph)
- Certificate of disability as applicable to candidates applying for exemption under PwBD category issued by a competent authority
Please note, the above listed items are the only things allowed and mandatory. Candidates not carrying them will not be allowed to enter the examination centre. Furthermore, there will be no facility available near the exam centre to print admit cards. It is hence necessary to keep these items at the ready and prepared.
NEET 2025 will be conducted from 2 pm till 5 pm. No candidates will be allowed to enter the examination centre after 1:30 pm under any circumstances. Seating begins at 1:15. All candidates are advised to reach by 12:30 pm to ensure proper checking and convenience.
