Why This Initiative
NEET UG examination has garnered a lot of attention over the years. As the single examination for admission to all medical/ dental courses in the country, the examination is of utmost importance for anyone wanting to become a doctor.
The high stake of the examination has in turn attracted a lot of illegal participants. Agencies have, over the years, busted underground rackets that charge high fees to help candidates clear the examination. This includes leaking paper and even impersonating a candidate to appear for the examination.
All these activities have created a serious risk and often brough to question the sanctity of the examination. Checking unfair means is crucial to ensure fair examination.
While authorities are constantly working on checking these activities, fake claims and news have also created trouble in the past. Last year, NTA faced criticism for certain lapses in the examination. Supreme Court of India also took note of possible loopholes in the arrangements and NEET Result calculations. NTA was asked to ensure stricter vigilance and better facilities to ensure fair and secure examination.
