National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET 2025 registrations will begin soon now. Ahead of the same, National Testing Agency, NTA has released a fresh notice in regards the examination pattern for the national level entrance examination. Confirming the revising in the paper pattern, NTA has clarified that the examination will no longer have optional questions or ‘choices’.
NEET 2025 Exam Pattern
In the notice released on nta.ac.in, NTA has confirmed that NEET 2025 undergraduate examination will consist of 180 compulsory questions – 45 each in Chemistry and Physics and 90 questions from Biology.
In accordance, the changes introduced at the time of COVID have now been revoked and the choice options have been removed. Furthermore, the total time given to candidates to attempt the examination would be 180 minutes – that is 3 hours.
Earlier, in 2020, NTA had reduced the syllabus and decided to provide the students with choice questions from the portions removed. This decision was implemented and students had choices of about 20 questions in the examination.
An additional time of 20 minutes was also given by NTA to the students, making NEET an exam of 3 hour 20 minutes or 200 minutes.
These changes, however, have now been reversed. The examination pattern, hence is now back to 180 questions in 180 minutes.
NEET 2025 Exam
NTA has already released a notice confirming that the NEET 2025 examination will be conducted in pen and paper format. The exam is scheduled for first Sunday of May 2025. Date of registration has not been released.
As per the information available, NTA is most likely to begin the registration process by end of January or from February 1. The detailed information bulletin will be released on neet.nta.nic.in in due course of time.
