National Testing Agency, NTA has released an important notice in regards the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET UG 2025 registration. The notice, now available on the official website nta.ac.in confirms that APAAR ID of students will not be mandatory for registering for NEET UG 2025 examination.
This is in reference to the earlier notice released by NTA on January 14, 2025 asking students to create their APAAR ID (also called the Academic Bank of Credits or ABC ID). The implementation of APAAR ID would facilitate the movement of students from one institution to another.
NEET 2025 Registrations
NTA has now clarified that while creating APAAR ID at the earliest is encouraged, the same is not mandatory for NEET 2025 candidates. The notice released reads, “It is clarified that APPAR ID is not mandatory for NEET UG 2025 registrations. Aspirants can continue to register for the exam using other available means details of which shall be available in the information bulletin soon.”
Along with the notice, NTA has also released a step by step guide on how to register for and create the APPAR ID.
As for the start of registration, NTA has not confirmed any date for the same. Trends and information available through sources suggest that the information bulletin will be released on January 28 or January 29 and registration process will begin soon after.
In other related updates, NTA has also notified the change in NEET 2025 exam pattern. In regards the same, students will not be required to attempt 180 questions in 180 minutes for the examination.
