  1. First step would be to manage your condition. It is important that you refer to your doctor and start your medicine. Remember, it is important to get your thyroid levels in control. This may take a few months but be patient.
  2. Follow a balanced diet, as per the recommendation. There are a few foods that one may avoid like Soy as they hamper the absorption of thyroid hormone in the body. If you are referring to a dietician or a doctor, follow the suggestions as given by them.
  3. Increase activity. Hypothyroidism may leave you feeling tired and fatigued. Interestingly, the more you exercise and maintain an active lifestyle, the less tired you would be. Also, exercising is important for weight loss. This could be a brisk walk or any other activity you decide to follow.
  4. Stay positive – as mentioned earlier, your medical condition leaves you prone to increased anxiety. It is hence important for you to stay positive. Someone to talk to, following stress management could all help you in achieving a healthier body and mind.

Remember, it may be difficult in the beginning but would get all better. The key is consistency. Seeking professional assistance from a dietician or fitness expert might be something that you need.
